It really sucks when you think you sincerely like someone, but then you later find out that you're just physically attracted to them and nobody wants to listen to you or believe you when you say that. Sigh.
My arms and shoulders ache like mad after kayaking, and Mom just made me hang up the washing. Like, OW!! Grrr. Stupid beeyatch.
Oh, I never mentioned why I could go off on a little vacation in the middle of a school term. See, since I dropped Geo and I don't take Chinese or History, my exams ended on Monday, whereas everyone else's (mostly) ended on Thursday. And Friday was a marking day. So, there. Yay! Hurray for less exams!!
I think it was yesterday that James was talking about how throughout the generations, people give less importance to their heritage or culture and are becoming more westernized or whatever. So he asked me when I have kids, if I'm going to teach them Bangla and communicate with them in Bangla. I said yes, of course. I mean, even if I marry a Chinese guy or whatever, I'm going to teach him Bangla. So of course I want my kids to know Bangla. I've been told that a lot of people don't like how I'm "un-Bengali", but I'm not! I'm totally proud to be Bengali and I wouldn't wanna change that for anything. I mean, if I get married to some Eskimo and I have to live in Alaska or Antarctica with him in a little igloo, I'll still make sure he has a basic understanding of Bangla and stuff. I'm saying all this 'cause I don't like the deal with how some morons are going around talking about how I'm "Americanized" 'cause, if they haven't noticed, I'm a fuckin' Bengali!! For fuck's sake, I did Bengali dance for a whole 4 years AND I'm learning to play the tablas. I don't see what it is that makes them think I'm un-Bengali. Sure, I don't understand Hindi and don't like Bollywood shit and I hate the discussion of ZTV, but so what? That's got nothing to do with MY culture, so it's not even relevant! Anyway, this is pissing me off. I don't need to prove myself to a bunch of assholes who think they're being nice and traditional by glueing their eyes to some scantily clad Hindi movie actress dancing around a pervy actor, claiming that I'm being disrespectful to my culture by watching a girl in jeans on MTV. Does this make sense? I dunno. It's just pissing me off. Like how people are such hypocrites.
