Scheize! How could I forget! Okay, during our last PE lesson, me and Megan and Shekha were running around the stupid track and one of us (I forget who) found a pretty big hole in the fence separating the school grounds from the woods. (It feels weird, saying there're woods in Singapore. ANYWAY, those woods lead out to Old Holland Road.) So we decided that we'd have to go in there one day. (In the woods, that is, not Old Holland Road. Though there isn't anything wrong with Old Holland Road. I'm just saying. ANYWAY!!) So I thought about it for a while and decided that the best time to go exploring would be after the Teachers' Day celebrations, 'cause all the teachers always go to lunch after that and therefore nobody'd be there to catch us. But on Monday, after the prelim English exam, Megan said that she wouldn't be able to crawl through the hole in her mermaid outfit (she was Ariel on Teachers' Day - we had to follow a cartoon-theme), so we decided to just go then.
We went to the hole and spent ten whole minutes thinking about whether to go in or not and finally, I took both our bags and put them in and went in. Then I helped Megan in through the other side. We walked around in the woods for about half an hour or so. It was SO cool. It was scary at first, 'cause the leaf litter was so high; every time we stepped on it, our feet would sink into it and the leaves would come up to a little above our ankles. We sorta got used to that, though, and decided that we'd go through the woods and exit through Old Holland Road. But after a little while, I saw one of those blue plastic sheets that workers use, and it was draped over some branches sorta closeby, forming a 'tent'. I pointed it out to Megan and we were like, "Oh shit. Squatter settlement." Then, we inched on, till Megan pointed out snakeskin on the ground and we were like, "Oh shit. Snakeskin." So we sorta got freaked out and we decided to go back to school. So we went. I saw this bit of sun shining through the canopy, right behind Megan, and in the light I saw at least 10 mosquitoes flying around. Sure enough, we got out and there were TONS of little red bumps on our legs. Itchy as hell, they were. And I'd got a cut below my knee from some random branch or log or something.
Anyway, it was so fun! The whole 'jungle adventure' feel. Like Tarzan. Okay, not really. But it was cool anyway. Sorta like the Blair Witch Project. I wanna go back! Next time with some manly people for, like, protection or something.
I told Sugarbaby all that ^ and it turns out that he and his friends were playing football in MGS during the funfair last year and Alex had kicked the ball over the fence and they had to put a whole in it/lift it so Alex could go to the other side and get the ball back. And the way Sugarbaby described it, it sounded like his hole was our hole! (Heh.) How cool, really.
